Volunteer Roles

We have volunteer roles available right now at our Christchurch location at 29 Kilmarnock Street (there is a bus stop on Riccarton Road); and the FBC Timaru Hub, 26 Cains Terrace.

Who are we looking for? We look for volunteers who are prepared to help out once a week/fortnight with food sorting and are prepared to commit to three months at least.

We have day shifts and early evening shifts available - usually around 2-3 hours.

Please note that volunteers may be required to lift 20kg boxes of food and commit to volunteering with

FBC for three months. If this isn’t possible for you, please contact us and we’ll see if there’s some other way you can get involved.

Our Heart and Soul!

Foodbank’s volunteer team is at the heart of our work – without our valuable volunteer force we would not be able to fulfil our mission. Volunteer Work is something that we take very seriously, and our team is working each and every day to make a positive impact. We’re always looking for more people who share our values and are passionate about cutting down food waste while helping those in need
